ELECTRONIC ACCESS CODE
You will need a four-digit numerical code to unlock your cottage door. An envelope addressed to you, will be attached to the door of your cottage. Inside is a Welcome letter that contains your FOUR-DIGIT ACCESS CODE. Please take note and keep that number handy throughout your stay.
After turning right into the driveway, immediately bear left into the private parking area marked by the sign, “Main House Parking”. Limited to spaces for four vehicles, there is additional on-street parking on Glanzer Court, the next right turn after the Manor House driveway.
FITZGERALD COTTAGE – BERGEY COTTAGE – QUILL COTTAGE
Follow the driveway in front of the Manor House to access “Cottage Parking”, marked by a sign on the left. There are three spaces; ONE for EACH cottage. If you have additional vehicles, you may park on Glanzer Court, the street behind the Manor House.
SPRING WATER COTTAGE SUITES
A PRIVATE DRIVEWAY is beside the POND; there is a small, lighted sign that says “Spring Water Suites” under a canopy-lit huge Elm Tree. To help you navigate, please know our large, vintage Manor House FACES THE POND and the SPRING WATER SUITES.
Manor House Rates are determined at the time of booking based upon the number of guests (not to exceed 11).
Cottage Rates are based on double occupancy (two guests) and furnished to accommodate this size party, only. Either one King or Queen-sized bed per cottage/cottage suite.
Apartment Rates are based on double occupancy (two guests) unless a third adult or two children are identified by reservation. Occupancy is limited to three adults of two adults and two small children.
CANCELLATION/CHANGE DATE POLICY
MORE THAN THIRTY DAYS prior to your arrival date, should you cancel your reservation, we will retain your pre-paid, non-refundable deposit of 30% that was provided at time of reservation.
THIRTY DAYS OR LESS than your arrival date, should you cancel your reservation, we will charge your credit card provided at the time of your booking for the full balance due.
CHANGES – Should you desire to CHANGE the date of your reservation outside the cancellation period, a telephone call is required in order to discuss availability and any applicable charges that may apply relative to the date change.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
If the National Weather Service recommends against travel on your route, we will charge your credit card for the balance due plus a $50 processing fee and issue a gift certificate equal to the amount of your full stay, to be used in the future, subject to availability.
Fireplaces are SEASONAL and in operation October 1 to April 30, no exceptions.
SMOKING, PET POLICY
SMOKING: Restricted to porches and grounds
PETS: No pets allowed. Outdoor cats on the property.
EV CHARGING STATIONS
Available for an additional fee and with ADVANCE NOTICE to assure the station is UNLOCKED for your use.
For guest use only, we offer two types of EV charging:
- TESLA Charging Station – located in the parking lot adjacent to Spring Water Cottage Suites (Water Lily Suite & Mountain Laurel Suite). You should book this accommodation to assure proximity to the TESLA charging station.
- UNIVERSAL Charging Station – located in the parking lot adjacent to the three Luxury Cottages (Fitzgerald Cottage, Quill Cottage, and Bergey Cottage). You should book one of these accommodations to assure proximity to the Universal charging station.
USE OF PROPERTY GROUNDS
For GUEST USE ONLY we offer acres of beautiful lawn & landscape, plus an inviting country-style pond for your enjoyment. Gatherings & parties for groups is not allowed. Permits and restrictions on noise are subject to inspection and fine. Please respect this limitation while enjoying walks or “pond-sitting” during your stay.
The Bergey Cottage is ADA approved, however it has limitations. Please inquire with us at (540) 801 0430 for additional details prior to booking your stay.
Cottages are equipped to enable guests to prepare “light fare” and beverages during your stay. The wet bar sink is adequate for clean up after limited food and beverage prep. Guests provide their own meals and housekeeping.
The Guest shall be liable for damage caused by his or her act, omission or negligence. If damage has occurred, By the Side of the Road Getaway Lodging reserves the right to charge the credit card, provided at the time of booking, a reasonable amount necessary to repair or replace such damage. Cleanup problems, beyond “reasonable wear or tear,” will be applied to the credit card at the rate of $75 per hour.
Reservations must be made directly via telephone in order to redeem because online booking systems will require a deposit. Value of gift certificates is applicable to lodging tariff, only. Sales taxes cannot be paid with a gift certificate. Gift certificates/gift cards must be disclosed by identification number at the time of reservation and will not be accepted for redemption otherwise.
